Where Am I? – Right Here

around the webWell well well…I have not done too much reading this week, it has been a week more of cleaning things up trying to get ready for the next week.  I have a few other side projects I am working on that have been taking a lot of my attention.  I bet you are reading some fine reading around the web today, you will notice that I am out there in 2 places.  Jacob at Iheartbudgets was kind enough to allow me to guest post on his site and also I am over at add-vodka thanks to Daisy.

After these past few weeks vodka may be in order.  It is St. Patrick’s Day weekend here at least for the parades.  My mom is coming to watch our kids tomorrow and the only thing I can think about doing to just get away for a little bit is go sit in a car somewhere and just enjoy the peace and quiet.  Anyone else out there with a 4 year old and a 2 year old have the same feelings??

Go take a look and drop a kind comment at:

Add-Vodka where I talk about Tips to Prepare Before It is Too Late

Iheartbudgets where I give 5 Tips for Selling on Craigslist to Make Extra Money Now.  This is important to me because my mom will be bringing me some things this weekend that I hope to put up on Craigslist and make a few extra bucks!

Make sure you check out this brought to you by the fine folks at Structured Settlement Quotes.

Sponsored Video – Christmas Is Inching Closer: Buy Gifts For Children

As a Jeep owner I am happy to share this video. This post is sponsored by Jeep.

It has been a busy week with work as working in finance it is month end and the financial situation like so many other businesses around is not doing good.

Seeing first hand the money that the organization is bleeding does not give me that warm and fuzzy feeling, but it also makes me look inward to tidy up my own finances to make sure that I have my money in order.

So here is what my wife and I have done since mid October.  We have paid off about $2500 in credit card debt.  While it does feel good we are no where near where we need to be.  We upped our 401k Contribution percentages to 10% each.  Was this the correct financial decision?  Probably not considering we are only being matched up to 4% but we want to bulk up our 401ks and then with our tax return next year put it towards paying down more debt.  Remember back wayyy back about Dear debt I am going to defeat you.

Well that didn’t happen as planned my wife and I were burnt out and needed a vacation.  We have steadily been paying down our debt but really took it to heart this Christmas season.

In addition to being vigilant with our debt reduction practices we have adopted 3 children to purchase Christmas gifts for.  This is one of the best ways that I know to give back for being so fortunate.  The organization that we are working with is Kids Oneida.  If you would like to donate there is a link on their site, or see if you have it in yourself to do something in the community around where you live.  Until next week be safe and have a happy weekend.

Five for Friday: But I have Been Working Hard and Didn’t Read Any Edition

Well there have been a lot of things going on the website the past few weeks.  My to-do list keeps growing and growing of things that I need to update.  Being a novice at this web design stuff this is taking alooooot longer than I usually anticipate. weekly finance report

I have been burning the midnight oil these past few days trying to get all these enhancements/improvements off the ground.  I am excited as I am a few weeks away from launching another website designed by the same guy that did all this logo and design work on this site.

Here is a quick hitlist of what I have been doing:  This weeks Weekly Finance Report –  Five for Friday is what I’ve done 🙂

-Created a new facebook page

-Installed a few plugins to clean up some things

-Started editing old posts for SEO purposes

-Signed up for Aweber

-Created a very long list of wants and things to do!

I hope you have a great weekend.  It is starting to get very cold here in NY. My wife and my oldest daughter are going to the Nutcracker this weekend so it is just my youngest daughter and I hanging out.  So if you see very little change you will know why.

Stay warm!

Any hot plans for the weekend?

Five For Friday: It might snow today in Central NY

This has been a long week at work.  I had a virus on my computer that I am still trying to rectify and I am posting this from my cell phone.  So if there are any errors please email me.  It gets me thinking; while cell phones are amazing running a blog from a phone is not practical.  I can respond to emails and comments but a lengthy post is just not in the cards.

I think in the subsequent weeks I am going to expand the Five For Friday.  If you have any clever naming methodologies please shoot me an email or leave in the comments.
